From a two-person idea to a leading IoT platform
Datacake was founded in 2016 by Lukas Klein and Simon Kemper with a simple goal: make it effortless to connect, monitor, and manage IoT devices - from battery-powered LoRaWAN sensors to complex industrial machines.
Since then, Datacake has grown into a global platform with more than 40,000 users across 50+ countries, trusted by companies of every size, including large international corporations. Headquartered in Vreden, Germany, we work as a distributed international team serving customers across Europe, the United States, and beyond.
We are venture-backed by two well-known Swedish investors: Cantaloupe - the founders behind the communications giant Sinch - and Predli. With 1.2 million euros in total funding, their backing supports our mission to deliver world-class IoT solutions in a rapidly growing market.
